GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World, one of South Africa’s leading entertainment destinations under the prestigious Sun International brand, is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced and professional Driver to join its dynamic Front Office team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring every guest’s experience is smooth, safe, and memorable from the moment they arrive until they depart.

Job Purpose

The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting guests safely to and from various destinations—both within the property and externally—while providing a first-class level of hospitality and customer service. The role requires attentiveness, reliability, and a commitment to ensuring each guest’s journey is comfortable, efficient, and enjoyable.

Key Responsibilities

1. Preparation and Vehicle Readiness

• Conduct daily inspections to ensure vehicles are in excellent working condition, both mechanically and in appearance.

• Check fuel levels, cleanliness, and readiness of vehicles prior to use.

• Maintain a clean and organized Porte Cochere (arrival area), ensuring it reflects the brand’s high standards.

• Review the arrival and VIP guest lists each day, noting any special transport requests or requirements.

• Familiarize yourself with all hotel facilities, activities, promotions, and events to assist guests with accurate information.

• Plan and review routes in advance, particularly for unfamiliar destinations, to ensure timely and safe travel.

• Schedule and coordinate vehicle maintenance to ensure reliability and compliance with safety standards.

2. Guest Transport and Delivery Services

• Welcome guests warmly, assist with luggage, and provide a courteous and safe transport experience.

• Drive guests to and from the airport, attractions, or any designated locations in line with hotel procedures.

• Ensure compliance with all traffic and hotel regulations while maintaining a clean driving record.

• Log all external trips and complete relevant documentation accurately.

• Promptly report any incidents, vehicle damage, or safety concerns to management.

• Coordinate and park guest and resident vehicles as needed.

• Occasionally assist with the collection and delivery of goods or packages as directed by management.

3. Guest Engagement and Customer Service

• Maintain a professional and welcoming presence at the hotel entrance or Porte Cochere at all times.

• Build positive relationships with guests through genuine interactions and attentive service.

• Respond effectively to guest requests, complaints, and inquiries—ensuring prompt resolution or escalation when required.

• Identify regular guests and understand their preferences to provide personalized experiences.

• Promote hotel services, facilities, and loyalty programs in a natural, guest-focused manner.

• Offer directions, suggestions, and local information to enhance the guest’s stay.

• Assist with telephone duties at the Concierge desk when required.

4. Administrative and Operational Support

• Record mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance schedules accurately.

• Handle transport-related charges and submit them for processing when applicable.

• Support in daily departmental operations, including luggage management, housekeeping coordination, and shift transitions.

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience

• Grade 12 certificate (Matric) required.

• Proven experience as a professional driver in a hospitality or customer service environment.

• Experience working directly with guests in a hotel or tourism setting will be advantageous.

Licenses and Certifications

• Valid South African Code 10 Driver’s License with a clean driving record.

• Public Driver’s Permit (PDP) essential.

Additional Requirements

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, public holidays, and rotational shifts.

• Must be physically capable of driving for long periods and handling guest luggage as needed.

• Open to performing related tasks in other outlets as per operational needs.

• Proficient in English communication (both written and spoken).

• Familiarity with Opera or similar hotel management systems is advantageous.

• Ability to navigate efficiently using GPS devices, maps, or digital applications.

• Basic computer literacy for completing logs and communication tasks.
